As a fun way to celebrate the launch of Lane Crawfords new range of natural and organic beauty products they invited me to come and share some simple recipes incorporating a few of these products. I couldn’t think of a lovelier way to spend a rainy Saturday afternoon than with like minded people who enjoy to learn and create. Thanks to everyone that joined me and especially to those of you who weren’t afraid to get your hands dirty. I really do hope my demonstration inspired you to go home and create your own versions  of these 2 very healthy, easy but delicious treats.

Here are the recipes that I shared on Saturday in case you missed out.

1 1/2 cups of almond flour

    1/2 cup dried coconut

    1/3 cup of dried blueberries

1/2 cup of dark chocolate or cacao paste

1 serving of Super Elixir Chocolate Nourishing Protein

1/2 teaspoon of vanilla bean powder

    2-3 tablespoons of maple syrup

    1 tablespoon of coconut oil

    1. Place all ingredients except blueberries  into a food processor and blend until completely combined. This should take around 30seconds – 1 minute max.
    2. Add blueberries and blend but only to mix in the blueberries not to make them disappear into the mixture.  We want the blueberries to stay whole.
    3. Take about 1 tablespoon at a time and roll into a ball.
    4. Your balls are now down however you could roll them in chia seeds, cacao nibs or coconut to make them look extra pretty.

These will stay fresh in the freezer for a month or in the fridge a week.

    2 Frozen over ripe bananas

    1 Frozen avocado

    1 tablespoon of maple syrup

1/4 cup of fresh almond milk

1 serving of The Super Elixir Alkalising Greens

a variety of nuts, fresh fruits or granola of your choice

    1. Add all ingredients into a powerful blender and blend until well combined. You want this mixture to be thick so use your almond milk to control the texture by only adding in a little by little.
    2. Once you have a nice thick texture place in bowl and add your chosen toppings. It’s that easy!

These are 2 very simple recipes that literally anyone can try at home. You can make big batches of the balls on the weekend and have them ready for the whole week as a quick snack, pick me up or naughty but nice treat.

Don’t forget I also have an awesome competition running on my instagram at the moment. All you have to do is tag me @caragmcilroy @lanecrawford and #LCNATURALBEAUTY  for a chance to win a bag of Lane Crawford goodies filled with full size natural and organic products from their new range. I will be choosing the winners on the 21st of July so you still have all week to get into your kitchen and get creative.

Looking for the perfect escape for a day, weekend or even the week? A week would be crazy but this is Hong Kong after all and this treatment claims to reduce your age by 3.9 years when done consecutively for 7 days.  Not sure about you but I don’t have the cash or the time to indulge in that kind of investment. So I had to settle for a 1 day treatment. So I didn’t loose 3.9 years off my life but instead I’m looking fabulous for my age which is still awesome. A girl can dream though.

The Perfect Ten Diamond Life Infusion Facial was a 1 hour and 30 min treatment but I say 1 day because the spas facilities are so amazing you could literally spend the entire day. Before for my treatment I spent 1 hour steaming, swimming, relaxing and unwinding. Preparing myself for relaxation mode.

    The facial has 10 steps.

    1.Welcome Ritual
A sensational room spray – Diamond Experience Water

    2. First Touch
Face cleansing and make-up removal with Diamond White Rich Luxury Cleanse and skin toning with Diamond White Clarity Toning Lotion

    3.Face Pressure
Shirodhara Massage with Diamond Experience Lavender Infusion

using Glycoline Peel or Enzyme peel

    5.Face Massage
    with Diamond Experience Nectar

    6.First Experience
1st Mask with LED by using Diamond Experience Chromo-Rejuvenating Mask and Diamond Experience & Diamond Experience Lavender Infusion

2nd Soft Rubble Mask by using Diamond Experience Youth Infusion Bio-Mask

    8.Diamond Hand Ritual
Exclusive hand massage with Diamond Experience Body Cream to deeply nourish the skin

    .9Face Protection
Moisturising the face with Diamond Drops & Diamond White Spa 50 PA +++ Matte Finish Sun Protection

    10.Final Touch
Adding warm touches and spraying the room with Diamond Experience Water

I must say this was a very special facial.  I felt like a new woman.  My skin was so bright to the point it was almost a differenet shade to the rest of my body, in a good way.

After my treatment I took some time to grab a snack in the chill out area. After all I had been in there 2 and a half hours already so I was starving! Mid snack I completely passed out and slept 45mins.  This treatment was exactly what this sleepless Mummy needed to get her though the rest of a busy week.

For a limited time the The Oriental Spa at the Landmark Mandarin has teamed up with Spanish beauty company Natura Bissé to offer a unique accommodation package for their guests to celebrate their 10 year anniversary. You can contact for bookings or more details.

    Lots of love,

As you all know I’m a huge fan of all things natural. So naturally (no pun intended) I have fallen in love with this new hong Kong based start up, the Naturally Better Box.

The idea is that you sign up to a month subscription and each month you receive a beautiful box filled with cruelty free, toxic free, and environmentally friendly products are sent directly to your doorstep.

The girls at the NBB search the globe for the best products available and only share with us the ones the believe in, trust and love. The beauty of this is that all the goodies have been tried and tested by two women who are passionate about all things natural.

Unlike other subscriptions you receive full sized products. In my opinion this is much better than samples as you get the full experience and can better judge if you really love the products. If you do fall for  certain lip balm, cleaning product or yummy tea, just jump online to their e-shop and purchase more. It’s that easy…. Then all you need to do is sit back and wait until the next month to be introduced to more delectable NBB goodies.

Each box is filled with six full sized items.  These are my top six picks.

The Pure Candle and Coal & Canary Candle

Candles are a must in our house hold.  They are perfect for a romantic evening or simply to make the house smell amazing. They also look super cool.  These candles smell divine and burn clear of soot, chemicals and smoke so you can breath easy, sit back, and enjoy the ambience.

Matcha Maiden-100% pure organic green tea powder and Pranayum-masala chai tea

As you can see I clearly have a love for candles and tea. Chai always reminds me of home (Australia).  Relaxing and sipping a chai latte is one of my favorite things to do right off the plane. It’s so yummy and Hong Kong has yet to master the art of making Chai like Australia. This is why I love to have it on hand at home so I can make it myself.  Green tea is for sure one of my favorite flavors. So much that I created a super yummy smoothie for you guys to try using Matcha Maiden tea.

    Wotnot-facial wipes

Perfect to have in your bag for many reasons. For me I hate to wear make-up but unfortunately it is unavoidable in my line of work. These wipes are the perfect natural solution for me to clean my face of make-up right after a shoot or on the go. They are great to clean the kids faces and sticky fingers after a messy brunch date. And you can rest assured your not rubbing nasty chemicals on their delicate little faces. They are also biodegradable.

    Resparkel kit

Cleaning products are so scary to me. Specially since having first a dog, then children.  I’ll be honest allot of meals are eaten off the floor these days so cleaning products thats have no nasty chemicals, but work are so important.

The NBB has so many other fantastic products in their online store.  If your at all thinking of how to add more natural and organic products to your home and life they are worth checking out.

Lets make our lives more green,

    Coconut Matcha Smoothie

-1 cup of organic almond milk

-1 teaspoon of Matcha Maiden-100% organic green tea powder

    -1 frozen banana

    -1 tablespoon of raw honey

-2 1/2 tablespoons dehydrated coconut (1/2 tablespoon set aside for topping)

    -5 cubes of ices

-1/2 tablespoon of chia seeds for topping

Blend banana, almond milk, honey, coconut, ice, matcha and pour into a glass jar. Top with chia seeds, coconut and drizzle with honey.

Perfect afternoon pick me up that is delicious and packed full of antioxidants!

Nail art has never been something I was interested in trying out and to be honest as a model you have to keep things pretty simple. Recently it has become so popular that I thought I should give it a try, and because I’m heavily pregnant I do not have to worry about having crazy nails. I was quite pleased with how it looked. Something fun and different for me. Anything to draw attention away from my big belly and butt, is great right now (just kidding). I was surprised at just how easy it was. This time I asked my friends at The Nail Library to help me out so that I could learn some easy designs to share with you. I used my lovely intern Kat as my model. My hands are not nearly as pretty and I needed to be the photographer for the day.  I still received my pampering though and Kat and I walked out with matching nails.

    Look 1:

    What you’ll need:

    -Base coat

-Three Nail polish colour (burgundy, lilac, dark green)

    -Thin brush

    -Nail polish remover

    -Top coat

    The steps:

    1. First paint your nails with a layer of base coat to prep your nails for the colour

    2. After the base coat is dry, starting from the thumb paint a thin coat of burgundy and lilac polish alternating the colours with each finger. This will be your base for the nail art

    3. Wait till your base is dry.

    4. Wipe the thin brush off with nail polish remover to make sure it’s clean

    5. Using the dark green colour draw a small V shape on your index finger starting from the cuticle and colour it in.

    6. Wipe your brush clean.

    7.  Repeat step 5 using the burgundy colour.

    8. After wiping off your brush with nail polish remover. Use the burgundy colour draw an upside down V from the tip of the small V on your index finger and colour it in.

    9. Repeat step 8 using the dark green colour.

    10. Using your nail polish remover clean up around the cuticles, apply a layer of top coat and you’re done!

    Look 2:

    What you’ll need:

    -Base coat

-Three Nail polish colour (burgundy, lilac, dark green)

    -Thin brush

    -Nail polish remover

    -Top coat

    The steps:

    1. First paint your nails with a layer of base coat to prep your nails for the colour

    2. After the base coat is dry,  paint a thin coat of red colour on your thumb, index and pinky finger.

    3. Then paint your middle finger with the silver colour and your ring finger with the nude colour.

    4. Wait till your base is dry.

    5. Wipe the thin brush off with nail polish remover to make sure it’s clean

    6. Using the nude colour draw a right-angled triangle on the left side on your middle finger. Then using the red colour draw a right-angled triangle slightly overlapping the first one on the right side of your middle finger.

    7. Colour the triangles in

    8. Wipe your brush clean.

    9.  Repeat step 6 using the red and silver colour.

    10. Using your nail polish remover clean up around the cuticles, apply a layer of top coat and you’re done!
