Nail art has never been something I was interested in trying out and to be honest as a model you have to keep things pretty simple. Recently it has become so popular that I thought I should give it a try, and because I’m heavily pregnant I do not have to worry about having crazy nails. I was quite pleased with how it looked. Something fun and different for me. Anything to draw attention away from my big belly and butt, is great right now (just kidding). I was surprised at just how easy it was. This time I asked my friends at The Nail Library to help me out so that I could learn some easy designs to share with you. I used my lovely intern Kat as my model. My hands are not nearly as pretty and I needed to be the photographer for the day.  I still received my pampering though and Kat and I walked out with matching nails.

Look 1:

What you’ll need:

-Base coat

-Three Nail polish colour (burgundy, lilac, dark green)

-Thin brush

-Nail polish remover

-Top coat

The steps:

1. First paint your nails with a layer of base coat to prep your nails for the colour

2. After the base coat is dry, starting from the thumb paint a thin coat of burgundy and lilac polish alternating the colours with each finger. This will be your base for the nail art

3. Wait till your base is dry.

4. Wipe the thin brush off with nail polish remover to make sure it’s clean

5. Using the dark green colour draw a small V shape on your index finger starting from the cuticle and colour it in.

6. Wipe your brush clean.

7.  Repeat step 5 using the burgundy colour.

8. After wiping off your brush with nail polish remover. Use the burgundy colour draw an upside down V from the tip of the small V on your index finger and colour it in.

9. Repeat step 8 using the dark green colour.

10. Using your nail polish remover clean up around the cuticles, apply a layer of top coat and you’re done!
